I'm scheduled for surgery tomorrow morning and I'm SO excited! I was just curious as to how many have had this method of eye correction. I wasn't a good candidate for RK or lasik because my pupils are around 7.5mm and the blade was 5mm. Intralase will only give me a 20% chance of halos instead of 80% w/ the other methods.

One of my goals for this winter was to get my eyes done before ride season rolls around. Why??? Well, yeah I'm sick of not being able to see across a SMALL room without my glasses, but mostly because I want to wear cool sunglasses that I don't have to pay several hundred dollars JUST FOR THE LENSES! I was evaluated last fall, and told I'm a great candidate for mono-repair. (that's where they just do one eye, so one stays near sighted, the other is changed to far sighted, and the balance out. Similar to patching a child's weaker eye to strengthen the other.) This only works if you don't yet need bifocals, which so far I don't, but have the suspicion my eyes are changing.

But..have I done it yet? NOPE! Now it's been too long and I'll have to be evaluated again.

I'm with you, TInk.

Knock knock...Wildhorse and Flhrciblue.... so, how are the eye balls?

I know what you mean aboutthe cooooool sun glasses. I technically wear bifocals....but, I went tothe monofocal contacts. One eye lense sees far and the other sees close...they DO even out and it's WONDERFUL seeing w/o my reading glasses.

When I'm brave enough...perhaps I'll do lasik, but for now...my soft contacts are effortless enough for me.

Good for you both!

Blessings,
